Rollers and Drums for Recycling & Waste

Operating conditions

Mixed Material, Impact and Wear

Recycling and waste plants handle mixed, unpredictable material: metal, glass, wood and plastics, with sharp edges and heavy items. Conveyors and drums take impact and wear, and granulators and shredders need sharp blades.

  • Heavy-duty drums and shafts for mixed material
  • Impact-resistant rollers at loading points
  • Wear-resistant lagging and coatings
  • Granulator blade grinding

Rollers for recycling & waste

Conveyor Components for Recycling and Waste Handling

We supply conveyor drums, lagged drums, idlers and shafts to recycling and waste plants and the machine builders that equip them, and grind granulator blades through our grinding service.

For worn parts, see repair and replacement rollers. Send your requirement via the contact page.

Conveyors in recycling plants

Recycling and waste plants use conveyors to feed shredders, carry material through sorting lines, and move sorted fractions to bunkers and balers. Material is mixed and unpredictable: sharp metal, glass, wood and plastics, sometimes wet, sometimes heavy. Conveyor drums and rollers take impact and abrasion, and belts often run dirty.

Design choices that help

Heavy-wall shells, robust end discs and lagging on drive pulleys keep drums running under these conditions. Return rollers with discs help shed sticky material, and impact rollers protect the belt at loading points. When drums wear, relagging and journal repair often return them to service at a fraction of the cost of a new drum.

Granulator and shredder blades

Plastics recyclers depend on sharp granulator blades for consistent regrind quality and lower energy use. Our grinding department regrinds granulator blades and other industrial knives to their original geometry, alongside roller and shaft work for the same plants.

Shafts for shredders and granulators

Shredder and granulator rotors run on heavy shafts that take shock loads. We turn and grind replacement shafts and repair worn bearing seats on existing ones, alongside blade grinding for the same machines.

Typical enquiries from recycling plants

  • Heavy-duty drive and tail drums for shredder feed conveyors
  • Replacement rollers for sorting line conveyors
  • Regrinding of granulator blades on a regular schedule
  • Repair of worn shafts and bearing seats on conveyor drums
