Large Diameter Industrial Rollers up to Ø3,200 mm
Heavy rollers, roll shells and drums up to 3,200 mm in diameter, 6,000 mm long and 12 tonnes. Welded, turned, ground, hard-chrome plated and balanced to your drawing, under one order.

Heavy Rollers on Our Lathes and Grinders
Large roller shells clamped on the faceplate, heavy drums turned in stages and long rolls ground between centres.

Big Rollers Need Big Machines, and a Team That Has Done It Before
A standard roller shop is built around 89 mm to 219 mm idlers and lathes with a swing of a few hundred millimetres. Once a roller passes about one metre in diameter or a few tonnes in weight, most suppliers have to split the job: one shop turns the shell, another grinds it, a third plates it. Every transfer adds weeks, freight and the question of who is responsible for the final runout.
We are set up for the other end of the range. Our heavy lathe swings parts up to 3,200 mm in diameter and 6,000 mm long, our cranes and fixtures handle rolls up to 12 tonnes, and grinding, hard chrome and dynamic balancing run across the same size range. One drawing, one order, one supplier responsible for the finished roller.

Types of Large Rollers We Manufacture
If your roller is not on this list, send the drawing. Size and weight decide feasibility, not the roller's name.

Conveyor drive drums
Head and drive pulleys for high-tension belt conveyors in mining, cement and ports.

Drawing & feasibility
We check diameter, length, weight, shaft design, bearing arrangement and surface spec against our machines before quoting.
Shell & end discs
Shells are made from heavy tube or rolled plate; end discs, hubs and shafts are cut and prepared in the specified grade.
Certified welding
Shell seams, end discs and hubs are welded under EN 1090 EXC3 and ISO 3834-2 control, with machining stock planned in.
Heavy turning
The roller is turned on our heavy lathe on the faceplate or in the chuck, in stages, to drawing dimensions.
Grinding & coating
Where specified, the body and journals are ground, hard-chrome plated, rubber-covered or lagged.
Balancing & packing
The finished roller is dynamically balanced, inspected, documented and packed on skids or in a crate for export.
Large Roller Capacity at a Glance
These are the outer limits. Most large rollers we make sit well inside them, which leaves room for fixtures, steady rests and safe handling.
Send the outside diameter, face length, total length and weight, and we confirm feasibility before quoting.

Questions About Large Diameter Rollers
What is the largest roller you can manufacture?
Rollers up to 3,200 mm in diameter, 6,000 mm long and 12 tonnes in weight. Turning, grinding, hard chrome plating and balancing all cover this size range.
Can you grind and chrome-plate large rollers?
Yes. We grind large rollers to 0.01 mm size and runout with surface finish down to Ra 0.2 µm, and hard-chrome plate them up to Ø3,200 mm.
Do you balance large rollers?
Yes. Large rollers and drums are dynamically balanced after machining, so they run smoothly and protect the bearings.
Can you supply the roller with bearings and housings?
Yes. We supply large rollers bare or complete with shafts, bearings and housings, ready to install.
What do you need for a quote?
A drawing or sketch with outside diameter, face length, total length, weight, material, shaft and bearing details, surface requirement, quantity and destination country.
How are heavy rollers shipped?
On skids or in crates with marked lifting points, by road across Europe or by container from İzmir, on EXW, FOB, DAP or DDP terms.
Large Diameter Rollers and Heavy Rolls, Made in İzmir
Large diameter rollers carry the heaviest loads in industry. A drive drum on a long overland conveyor, a press roll in a paper machine or a carrier roll in a steel processing line all have the same demands: a true-running body, correctly placed bearing seats, and a surface that lasts. At this size, the roller is often the single most expensive spare part on the line, and the one with the longest lead time from the original supplier.
Built from plate, tube or forgings
Depending on diameter and load, we build roller shells from heavy-wall tube or from rolled and welded plate, with end discs and hubs welded in and machined after welding. For very heavy duty, the shaft runs through the shell; for others, stub shafts are welded or bolted to the end discs. We follow your drawing exactly, and if a detail adds cost without adding life, we say so before we quote.
Machined to runout, not just to size
A large roller that is the right diameter but runs out by a millimetre destroys belts, webs and bearings. We turn our rollers on a heavy lathe built for parts up to Ø3,200 mm, then grind the body and journals where the drawing calls for it, to 0.01 mm size and runout. Dynamic balancing is the last machining step before inspection.
Surfaces for every process
Large rollers leave our production plain, painted or galvanized, hard-chrome plated for wear and corrosion, covered in rubber or polyurethane, or lagged for belt grip. See our machine park for the equipment behind each step.
New rollers and replacements
Many of our large roller orders are replacements: a roller that has worn out, cracked or simply outlived its original manufacturer. We build replacement rollers from drawings, sketches or the old roller itself, and we repair and refurbish large rolls when that makes more sense than a new one.
To check whether your roller fits our capacity, send the outside diameter, length, weight and surface requirement through the contact page. For conveyor-specific drums, see conveyor drums and pulleys.
